Four men have been charged with federal robbery and firearm offenses related to a heist of electronics equipment in Chicago. According to an indictment filed in the U.S. District Court, Kahdaffie Green, Jahjuan Green, Chaqwon Birden, and Marquise Ramyyeh allegedly conspired to rob Meade Electrical Company on December 6, 2023. The four defendants reportedly wore hoods and ski masks during the robbery and brandished firearms while stealing a RIDGID camera and a Digitrak locator box from employees.

The charges against the individuals include robbery conspiracy and brandishing firearms during a crime of violence. Additionally, Kahdaffie Green and Marquise Ramyyeh face charges for illegally possessing firearms as previously convicted felons. Arraignments are scheduled for January 2, 2025, before U.S. District Judge Rebecca R. Pallmeyer.

The indictment was announced by Morris Pasqual, Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois; Douglas S. DePodesta, Special Agent-in-Charge of the FBI's Chicago Field Office; and Larry Snelling, Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily C.R. Vermylen is representing the government in this case.

Support for the investigation came from ATF’s Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) in Chicago, which focuses on investigating and preventing gun violence across northern Illinois through interagency collaboration among law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and intelligence analysts.

The case aligns with Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a Department of Justice initiative aimed at addressing violent crime issues through comprehensive solutions involving law enforcement officials and community leaders.

It is important to note that an indictment is not evidence of guilt; defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court. If convicted, brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence carries a minimum sentence of seven years up to life imprisonment. The robbery conspiracy charge can result in up to 20 years in prison, while illegal possession of a firearm by a felon may lead to a maximum sentence of 15 years.
