United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg has announced that San’Drevious Jerome Lane, a 23-year-old resident of Sanford, Florida, has pleaded guilty to charges related to carrying a firearm during a drug trafficking crime and distributing narcotics near a playground. Lane is facing a minimum sentence of six years in federal prison, with the possibility of life imprisonment. His sentencing is set for March 13, 2025.

Court records reveal that Lane was previously convicted of felony offenses in 2022 and was released from the Florida Department of Corrections on April 3, 2024. On May 21, 2024, he distributed cocaine in Sanford while possessing a firearm. Law enforcement officers found two fingerprints on the firearm, one identified as belonging to Lane. As a convicted felon, federal law prohibits him from possessing firearms or ammunition. Furthermore, on June 3, 2024, Lane sold approximately 28 grams of cocaine about 800 feet from a playground.

The investigation into this case was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Adam J. Nate is prosecuting the case.

This prosecution falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities. The Department launched an enhanced violent crime reduction strategy for PSN on May 26, 2021. This strategy emphasizes building trust within communities, supporting organizations that prevent violence before it occurs, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and evaluating outcomes.
