Donald Campbell Sr., a 62-year-old resident of Elmira, NY, has been sentenced to 144 months in prison for possession of child pornography. The sentence was handed down by Chief U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford following Campbell's conviction on charges related to child pornography.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Katelyn M. Hartford, who prosecuted the case, revealed that between July 25, 2022, and January 9, 2023, Campbell possessed digital devices containing over 600 images and videos of child pornography. These materials included depictions of prepubescent children under the age of twelve subjected to violent sexual abuse and an infant's sexual abuse. Campbell distributed these images via the internet.
Campbell is a registered level-three sex offender, which indicates the highest risk level, due to two prior felony convictions for child pornography offenses in New York State Court in December 2004 and March 2019.
The investigation leading to this sentencing was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation Human Trafficking Task Force and the Elmira Police Department.
