Rochester, N.Y. - Takesha Rogers, a 39-year-old resident of Rochester, NY, has been arrested and charged with willfully entering a restricted area at the Rochester Airport. This charge comes from a criminal complaint announced by U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross. The violation carries a potential penalty of up to one year in prison.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan K. McGuire, who is overseeing the case, explained that Rogers had previously pleaded guilty on May 5, 2022, to entering an airport area without adhering to security protocols. She admitted to climbing over the fence and entering the Aircraft Operations Area (AOA) at the Rochester Airport on four occasions. Following her plea, she was sentenced to time served and placed under supervised release for one year.

In April 2023, shortly after her supervised release began, Rogers again attempted to bypass security at the Rochester Airport by climbing a fence and entering the AOA. This led to further violations and ultimately resulted in her supervised release being revoked. In October 2023, she was sentenced to one year in prison but was released in July 2024.

On November 27, 2024, just after 11:30 pm, Rogers once more entered a secured AOA at the airport. A Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy observed her running towards an aircraft that was taxiing on the runway. She was apprehended without incident and categorized as a Mental Hygiene Arrest before being taken to Rochester General Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

Rogers made her initial court appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Marian W. Payson and remains detained.

The investigation leading to this complaint involved efforts by the Federal Bureau of Investigation under Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office directed by Sheriff Todd Baxter.

It is important to note that charges against Rogers are accusations at this stage; she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
