Marc H. Silverman, the Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced charges against four individuals for offenses connected to the sex trafficking of minors in Danbury. The charges were disclosed in collaboration with Anish Shukla, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the New Haven Division of the FBI, and Danbury Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour.
Charged are Oswaldo Ordonez-Ortega, 39, from Danbury, Marco Robles, 40, Edwin Quilli-Tacuri, 40, and Bryan Ismael Vasquez-Salinas, 23—three of whom are citizens of Ecuador residing in Connecticut. The charges stem from allegations that emerged following an FBI Child Exploitation Task Force investigation initiated in February 2025.
In March, authorities acted on a warrant at a Danbury residence after observing communications on WhatsApp concerning two female minors advertised for sexual encounters. During the operation, law enforcement rescued two minors, aged 15 and 16. Ordonez-Ortega, Robles, Quilli-Tacuri, and Vasquez-Salinas, along with a fifth individual, were apprehended during this operation.
The alleged activities include coordination of transportation and scheduling of sexual encounters for the minors, as per the investigation, and payment transactions involving Ordonez-Ortega. Furthermore, Robles is accused of causing physical harm to one of the minors during a reported encounter.
The defendants are charged with the sex trafficking of children, which carries a minimum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and could lead to life imprisonment. Additional charges against Ordonez-Ortega and Vasquez-Salinas include attempted sex trafficking of children, while Ordonez-Ortega also faces charges of coercion, enticement, and transportation of minors for illicit purposes.
Robles and Quilli-Tacuri are currently detained following their recent arraignment, while Ordonez-Ortega and Vasquez-Salinas await court proceedings under state and federal custody, respectively. Acting U.S. Attorney Silverman emphasized the presumption of innocence for all defendants until proven guilty in a court of law.
The FBI's Child Exploitation Task Force leads the investigation with help from the Danbury Police and other agencies, prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Daniel E. Cummings and Mary G. Vitale. Silverman acknowledged the significant role of the local State's Attorney's Office in advancing this case.
