U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported Miguel Saldivar-Moran, a Mexican national, on April 29, 2025, following his removal to Mexico. Saldivar-Moran faced multiple convictions, including a course of sexual conduct against a child and criminal sexual act.

"ICE will not tolerate criminal aliens who violate innocent children in our communities," stated Philip Rhoney, Acting Deputy Field Office Director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations. "We will pursue these vile predators with utmost urgency and effect their removal from the United States."

Aged 45, Saldivar-Moran admitted to entering the United States illegally in 1997 via the Arizona-Mexico border without proper admission or parole by a U.S. official. Between 2003 and 2013, he was convicted on three counts of driving while intoxicated (DWI) and one count of endangering a child's welfare, resulting in probation and fines. On September 7, 2016, an immigration judge ordered his removal from the United States. Saldivar-Moran's appeal to the Board of Immigration Appeals was denied on June 30, 2017.

On May 14, 2019, the Suffolk County Court in Long Island, New York, found Saldivar-Moran guilty of first-degree sexual abuse, a course of sexual conduct against a child, a first-degree criminal sex act, and acting in a manner injurious to a child. ICE Buffalo officers arrested Saldivar-Moran on April 10, shortly after his release from custody by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision in Attica, New York.

The public is encouraged to report crimes and suspicious activities to ICE by dialing 866-347-2423 or by completing the online tip form. Further details about ERO Buffalo’s mission can be found on X, @EROBuffalo.
