Florida man sentenced to over ten years for meth distribution

Luther Trovian Jones, a 52-year-old resident of Sebring, Florida, has been sentenced to 121 months in prison for his involvement in methamphetamine distribution. The sentence was handed down by a federal district judge in South Florida.

Jones was investigated through a collaborative effort between the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation uncovered that Jones was involved in selling or possessing large quantities of methamphetamine on several occasions.

The investigation attributed 265.79 grams of methamphetamine with a purity of 80 percent or higher to Jones, along with 29.8 grams of fentanyl.

The announcement was made by Hayden P. O’Byrne, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida; Deanne L. Reuter from the DEA Miami Field Division; and Paul Blackman, Highlands County Sheriff.

The case was investigated by the DEA Miami Field Division and the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Christopher Hudock is prosecuting the case.
