Federal authorities have announced the indictment of Brandt Mendelson, a 30-year-old resident of Danbury, Connecticut. He is charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine following an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Wallingford Police Department.

The indictment was issued by a federal grand jury in New Haven on June 17, 2025. Mendelson was subsequently arrested and released on a $100,000 bond.

According to the indictment and court statements, Mendelson was stopped by Wallingford Police on January 18, 2025, for driving under the influence. During his arrest, officers discovered counterfeit Adderall pills containing methamphetamine in his possession. These pills were reportedly packaged for shipment through the U.S. Mail.

If found guilty of these charges, Mendelson could face a minimum sentence of five years and up to 40 years in prison.

U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan emphasized that "an indictment is not evidence of guilt." He reminded that "charges are only allegations," and every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Nathaniel J. Gentile is prosecuting this case.
