Christopher Jesus Constanzo, a 23-year-old resident of Torrington, has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for the sexual exploitation of three minors. U.S. District Judge Alvin W. Thompson delivered the sentence in Hartford, Connecticut. Following his imprisonment, Constanzo will face a lifetime of supervised release.

The charges against Constanzo include the kidnapping and sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl, the enticement and sexual assault of another 16-year-old girl, and producing child pornography involving a 17-year-old girl. According to court documents and statements made in court, one incident occurred on December 2, 2021. Constanzo and a minor arrived at the U.S. Port of Entry at Highgate Springs, Vermont, after being denied entry into Canada due to missing COVID tests. The victim reported that she met Constanzo at Stillwater Pond State Park in Torrington the previous night before he assaulted her.

In July 2021, Constanzo coerced another minor via SnapChat to meet him at an abandoned warehouse in Torrington under threats against her and her boyfriend's lives if she did not comply. He sexually assaulted this victim at knifepoint.

Additionally, Constanzo recorded sexually explicit videos of a third victim using Facetime on his iPhone.

Since his arrest on December 2, 2021, Constanzo has remained detained. On February 22, 2025, he pleaded guilty to producing child pornography and admitted his actions towards all three victims as part of his plea agreement.

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Vermont State Police, Chittenden County Sheriff's Office in Vermont, and Torrington Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Nancy V. Gifford and Neeraj N. Patel prosecuted the case.

U.S Attorney David X. Sullivan expressed gratitude towards the U.S Attorney’s Office for the District of Vermont and Litchfield Judicial District’s State Attorney for their support during this case's investigation and prosecution.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood by the U.S Department of Justice aimed at combating child exploitation and abuse nationwide.
