Senate HELP Committee to discuss expanding employee ownership through ESOPs

On Thursday, July 24, the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee will convene a hearing focused on Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs). The aim is to empower workers by allowing them to have a stake in their company and build wealth for themselves and their families. ESOPs are retirement plans where employees collectively hold stock in their company.

Earlier this year, Senator Bill Cassidy introduced two legislative proposals to enhance support for ESOPs: the Employee Ownership Representation Act and the Employee Ownership Fairness Act.

The hearing titled "Empowering Workers by Expanding Employee Ownership" is scheduled for 10:00 AM ET at the Dirksen Senate Office Building. Members of the press planning to attend are asked to RSVP.
