Senator Cruz announces executive session agenda including key nominations

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, representing Texas and serving as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, has announced an upcoming Executive Session. The session is scheduled for Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time.

The agenda includes several nominations: Neil Jacobs from North Carolina for Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere (NOAA Administrator), Taylor Jordan from the District of Columbia for Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Environmental Observation and Prediction (NOAA), Harry Kumar from New York for Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs, Derek Barrs from Florida for Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Jonathan Morrison from California for Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Paul Roberti from Rhode Island for Administrator of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, Gregory Zerzan from Texas for General Counsel of the Department of Transportation, Seval Oz from California for Assistant Secretary of Transportation for Research and Technology, and Michael Rutherford from Florida for Assistant Secretary of Transportation for Multimodal Freight Infrastructure and Policy.

In addition to these nominations, there will be discussions on Coast Guard Promotions (PN 127-2, PN 367, PN 371, PN 414) as well as legislative matters including S.1691 - Traveler Privacy Protection Act of 2025 by Merkley; S.2314 - SHARKED Act of 2025 by Scott-FL; S.2318 - Streamlining American Manufacturing Strategy Act by Blunt Rochester; and S.2351 - Space Exploration Research Act by Cruz.
