Scott Donnelly, Chairman and CEO of Textron Inc., has received the Wright Stuff Award from the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA). The award is AIA’s highest individual honor and recognizes exceptional leadership and significant contributions to the aerospace and defense industry.
The Wright Stuff Award, named after aviation pioneers Orville and Wilbur Wright, honors individuals who demonstrate innovation, vision, and influence in aerospace. Donnelly was chosen for his long-standing dedication to advancing American aerospace technology, strengthening the industrial base, and supporting manufacturing and engineering excellence in national security.
“Scott Donnelly represents the very best of our industry,” said Eric Fanning, AIA President and CEO. “As a member of AIA’s Executive Committee for 20 years, Scott has brought a grounded, experienced voice that keeps our conversations focused on what really matters most: strengthening our sector and supporting the people behind it. His leadership has shaped the future of aviation and defense, and his advocacy for workforce development and supply chain resilience continues to drive progress across the entire aerospace and defense ecosystem.”
“It is an honor to receive the Wright Stuff Award from the AIA,” Donnelly said. “Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of being part of an industry that continues to shape the future of aerospace technology and reinforces America’s leadership and security on the global stage. I am grateful to the AIA for advancing the work of our U.S. aerospace and defense businesses.”
During Donnelly’s tenure at Textron, he has overseen expansion into new technologies while maintaining support for thousands of jobs throughout the United States. He has also played a key role in shaping policies that promote competitiveness for American companies in international markets through his two decades on AIA’s Executive Committee.
The award was presented at AIA’s Fall Board of Governors meeting where leaders discussed achievements from 2025 as well as plans for upcoming initiatives.
