The Committee on House Administration Subcommittee on Modernization and Innovation has announced that $4 million will be allocated to the Modernization Initiatives Account (MIA) as part of the Fiscal Year 2026 Legislative Branch Appropriations Bill.
Subcommittee Chair Stephanie Bice (OK-05) released a statement about the funding, emphasizing its purpose. "The MIA funds initiatives to ensure that the House can serve the American People more efficiently and effectively. From providing closed captioning service in committees and the House gallery, to developing a first-of-its-kind legislative staff directory, to building a comprehensive constituent casework tracker, the MIA plays a critical role in bringing the best modernization ideas to life," said Subcommittee Chair Bice. "I am proud of what the Subcommittee has accomplished so far with MIA funding and look forward to getting several new and exciting projects off the ground soon."
The MIA supports various projects aimed at improving transparency, accessibility, and operational efficiency within the U.S. House of Representatives.
