House subcommittee schedules hearing on E-Verify employment verification system

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

The Subcommittee on Workforce Protections, led by Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-PA), will conduct a hearing titled “E-Verify: Ensuring Lawful Employment in America” tomorrow at 10:15 a.m. The session will take place in Room 2175 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

This hearing was initially set for July 8, 2025, but has been rescheduled to November 19, 2025. The event is open to the press and will be available via live stream on the Committee’s YouTube page.

Scheduled witnesses include Jaime Andress, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Caddell Construction representing the Associated General Contractors of America; Chris Gamvroulas, President of Ivory Development representing the National Association of Home Builders; Jessie Hahn, Senior Counsel for Labor and Employment Policy at the National Immigration Law Center; and Rosemary Jenks, Co-Founder and Policy Director at the Immigration Accountability Project.

The hearing will address E-Verify, a system designed to confirm lawful employment eligibility in the United States.
