A Billings physician, Usman Hanif Khan, was sentenced to 24 months of probation and ordered to pay a $100,000 fine after pleading guilty to using a cell phone to arrange commercial sex. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Susan P. Watters following Khan's guilty plea in June 2025 to one count of use of a facility of interstate commerce to aid in racketeering.
According to information presented by the government, before April 9, 2023, Khan met a woman through a social media website that catered to individuals interested in commercial sex relationships. On or about April 9, 2023, Khan communicated with the woman via text messenger and cell phones to set up a commercial sex date with "Jane Doe." The woman claimed Jane Doe was an adult; however, she was actually a minor.
Court documents state that on the evening of April 9, the woman transported Jane Doe to Khan’s residence for the arranged encounter. After engaging in a sex act with Jane Doe, Khan contacted the woman again for her transportation and provided money for the meeting.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Zeno Baucus prosecuted the case with investigative support from the FBI.
