The Senate Judiciary Committee has advanced several key nominations, moving forward with four candidates for U.S. Attorney positions and three nominees for federal judgeships. The committee's decisions were made during a recent executive business meeting.
The nominees for United States District Judge include David Clay Fowlkes for the Western District of Arkansas, who was approved by a 15-7 vote; Nicholas Jon Ganjei for the Southern District of Texas, confirmed in a 12-10 vote; and Aaron Christian Peterson for the District of Alaska, who received a 14-8 vote.
In addition to judicial nominations, the committee also advanced Andrew Benson as United States Attorney for the District of Maine by a 19-3 margin. William Boyle was nominated as United States Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina with a 12-10 vote. Richard Price was selected as United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri and Darin Smith as United States Attorney for the District of Wyoming, both receiving votes of 12-10.
