House Energy and Commerce Committee schedules hearings and markup for early February

This week, the House Committee on Energy and Commerce is conducting a series of hearings and a markup session across its subcommittees in Washington, D.C.

On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, the Subcommittee on Energy will hold a hearing focused on oversight of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The session is scheduled for 10:15 AM ET at 2123 Rayburn House Office Building.

Also on Tuesday, the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will convene at 10:30 AM ET in room 2360 Rayburn House Office Building. This hearing will address concerns about fraudulent activities affecting state and federal governments through schemes targeting government-run health programs.

On Wednesday, February 4, the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology plans a legislative hearing to discuss reauthorization of FirstNet. This meeting will take place at 10:15 AM ET in room 2123 Rayburn House Office Building.

Later that day, at 2:00 PM ET in the same location, the Subcommittee on Energy will conduct a markup session to consider five bills.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee is one of the oldest standing committees in the U.S. House of Representatives. Established in 1795 as the Committee on Commerce and Manufactures, it oversees issues related to energy policy, health care programs, environmental protection measures, telecommunications regulation and consumer affairs.
