The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has announced it is seeking to hire more than 300 vocational rehabilitation counselors and specialists for its Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) program. The recruitment drive is open nationwide, with applications being accepted until March 17.

The VA encourages individuals with backgrounds in vocational rehabilitation, counseling, social work, or related fields to apply. Interested candidates can find information about available positions under the “Find VRS/VRC Positions” section in Featured Positions.

The VR&E program provides services such as individualized counseling, employment assistance, education support, and rehabilitation for veterans with service-connected disabilities. Through this program, veterans receive guidance from counselors and specialists to help them overcome employment barriers and achieve long-term career goals.

Counselors and specialists play a key role by offering tailored vocational guidance based on each veteran’s needs. Their responsibilities include managing complex caseloads and working closely with employers, educational institutions, and community partners to support veterans’ workforce integration.

“VA exists to help Veterans achieve the American Dream, and VR&E is one of our most powerful tools for making that happen,” said VA Secretary Doug Collins. “This hiring push will make it easier than ever before for Veterans to get help from the department to navigate career transitions, pursue education or training, and build a sustainable future.”
