U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo met today with members of the Advisory Committee on Supply Chain Competitiveness (ACSCC). During the meeting, she provided a readout of the recent Supply Chain Summit, co-hosted by the Department of Commerce and the Council on Foreign Relations. Raimondo emphasized the importance of strengthening supply chain resilience and bolstering national security, particularly through the work of the Department’s Supply Chain Center.

Commerce Deputy Secretary Don Graves and Congressman James Clyburn have announced a $13.5 million grant to Lake City, South Carolina, aimed at mitigating recurring flooding issues. The funding, awarded through the Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), will be supplemented with $1.3 million in local funds.

The Biden-Harris Administration announced today that the Department of Commerce and HP Inc. have signed a non-binding preliminary memorandum of terms (PMT) to provide up to $50 million in proposed direct funding under the CHIPS and Science Act. This funding aims to support the expansion and modernization of HP’s existing facility in Corvallis, Oregon, which is part of the company’s “lab-to-fab” ecosystem, spanning from research and development activities to commercial manufacturing operations.
