Washington, DC- Today, Chair of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Peter DeFazio (D-OR), and Chair of the Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials Daniel Lipinski (D-IL) announced the Subcommittee will hold a hearing titled, “Funding a Robust Freight and Passenger Rail Network." The hearing will discuss the benefits of both freight and passenger rail, examine the current state of the network, and address the need for continued investment through federal programs.
