Cummings Objects to Issa’s Plan to Return to Unilateral, Burton-era Subpoenas

(Washington, DC) - Rep. Elijah E. Cummings (D-MD), Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, wrote to Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) today objecting to Issa’s proposal to return to the policy employed by former Committee Chairman Dan Burton, who issued over 1,000 subpoenas without minority concurrence or a Committee vote. Rep. Cummings also objected to Chairman Issa’s policy of denying minority access to Committee records.
