NEW—Murray to Republican Leaders: Drop Trumpcare, Return to Regular Order, & Allow Bipartisan HELP Negotiations to Continue

The following press release was published by the Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions on Sept. 21, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

(Washington, D.C.) - Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Ranking Member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, issued the following statement continuing to urge Republican leaders to reverse course on Cassidy-Graham-Heller, the latest version of Trumpcare, and allow bipartisan negotiations between her and Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-TN) to move forward:

“I know there are members on both sides of the aisle in the Senate who would prefer to work together, under regular order, to lower premiums for families rather than rush a partisan, deeply harmful repeal bill through the Senate-especially given how much common ground we were able to find. I am still at the table ready to finish the promising work Chairman Alexander and I were able to do, and I think that can happen quickly as soon as Republican leaders allow it."
