Wyden Statement on Administration Decision to Cut Funding for Health Care Outreach

The following press release was published by the United States Senate Committee on Finance Chairman's News on Aug. 31, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today issued a statement following a decision by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to cut its budget for health care outreach, including advertising and the navigators program, which helps Americans purchase health care coverage:

“The Trump Administration should be doing everything in its power to improve Americans’ access to health care, not cutting efforts that help Americans get coverage," Wyden said. “Instead of helping, the Trump Administration is pulling the rug out from under Americans at every opportunity."
