WASHINGTON - Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Sander Levin (D-MI) today issued the following statement on the President’s nomination of Jason Furman to be the Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers:
“I applaud President Obama’s choice of Jason Furman to be the next chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors. Jason’s extensive experience and commitment to public service make him an ideal choice to succeed Alan Krueger. Jason brings with him an immense knowledge of the American economic landscape and proven ability on economic issues. I am confident that his experience and his leadership abilities will continue to serve the President well in this new capacity. I urge the Senate to quickly take up and approve his nomination."
