Foreign Affairs Committee to Consider Measures Addressing War Crimes, Genocide in the Middle East – Tomorrow 9:15 a.m.

Washington, D.C. - House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) announced the Committee will meet TOMORROW, Wednesday, March 2 at 9:15 a.m. to consider.

H. Res. 269, (Mr. Smith) strongly condemns the use of unlawful and indiscriminate violence against civilians by the Government of Syria, expresses the sense of the House of Representatives regarding the need for investigation and prosecution of war crimes and crimes against humanity, and calls on the President to immediately promote the establishment of a Syrian war crimes tribunal.

An Amendment in the Nature of a Substitute is expected to be offered by Mr. Smith.

H. Con. Res. 75, (Mr. Fortenberry) expresses the sense of Congress that the atrocities committed by ISIS against Christians, Yezidis, and other ethnic and religious minorities constitute war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

An Amendment in the Nature of a Substitute is expected to be offered by Mr. Royce.
