FAA Final Safety Rule for U.S. Air Carriers

WASHINGTON - U.S. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx, FAA Administrator Michael Huerta, and Nicholas Calio, President and Chief Executive Officer, Airlines for America (A4A) will announce a final FAA rule that will require safety management systems (SMS) for U.S. air carriers. SMS is the formal, top-down, organization-wide approach to managing safety risk and assuring the effectiveness of safety risk controls.
