NREPA Would Make the “THE EARTH MOVE” Out from Under Americans’ Feet Into the Hands of the Federal Government

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 4, 2009 - Tomorrow, the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands will hold a hearing regarding the Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act (NREPA, H.R. 980) which would lock up American land, specifically moving approximately 24 million acres of lands in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming and Utah from public access lands to off-limits wilderness areas.

In addition to several other witnesses, Grammy Award Winning Singer Carole King will testify regarding this legislation. In honor of her appearance, here’s a comparison between Ms. King’s 1971 single “I Feel the Earth Move" and the Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act:
