Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan issued a subpoena to Dr. Philip Dormitzer, the former Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer of RNA and Viral Vaccines at Pfizer, Inc. This action follows Dr. Dormitzer's refusal to voluntarily participate in the Committee's investigation into whether some Pfizer employees delayed the release of positive clinical trial results for its COVID-19 vaccine ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
The Committee has been informed that in November 2024, Dr. Dormitzer reported to his then-employer that three senior officials in Pfizer's R&D division were involved in a decision to intentionally slow down clinical testing. This was allegedly done so that the testing would not be completed before the presidential election results were announced. According to Dr. Dormitzer, this was not about delaying disclosure of completed results but rather slowing down progress before disclosure became necessary.
The claim that Pfizer employees might have withheld public health information to potentially influence the 2020 presidential election raises significant federal concerns and necessitates further investigation. The findings from this inquiry could lead to legislative reforms.
