Treasury proposes expanded clean energy investments targeting underserved communities

The U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) for the Clean Electricity Low-Income Communities Bonus Credit Program, known as 48E(h), created by the Inflation Reduction Act. The program aims to promote cost-saving clean energy investments in low-income communities, Indian lands, affordable housing, or directly benefiting low-income households.

Biden-Harris administration announces $62M investment in clean hydrogen technology

In support of the Biden-Harris Administration’s Investing in America agenda, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced nearly $62 million for 20 projects across 15 states to advance clean hydrogen technologies. These projects aim to enhance hydrogen fueling infrastructure, develop hydrogen-powered container-handling equipment for ports, and improve processes for deploying hydrogen technologies equitably.

EPA partners with South Holland on replacing lead water pipes

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a collaboration with the village of South Holland, Illinois, to identify and replace drinking water lead pipes as part of the Get the Lead Out Initiative. This program is funded by the Biden-Harris Administration’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and aims to achieve 100% lead service line replacement nationwide. The initiative will provide technical assistance to approximately 200 communities across the country.

U.S. settles $200M case with RTX over export violations

The U.S. Department of State has concluded an administrative settlement with RTX Corporation (RTX) to resolve 750 violations of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA), 22 U.S.C. § 2751 et seq., and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 22 C.F.R. parts 120-130. The Department of State and RTX reached this settlement following an extensive compliance review by the Office of Defense Trade Controls Compliance in the Department’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs.
