WASHINGTON -Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) today announced Elissa Alben has joined the Democratic Finance Committee staff, where she will serve as international trade counsel for issues including the Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations and the World Trade Organization.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Elissa to the Senate Finance Committee’s Democratic staff," Senator Baucus said. “She has exactly the right experience and skills to be a valuable member of the Finance Committee team. We have important work to do boosting our economy with an aggressive trade agenda, and Elissa will have a big role to play in getting that done."
Alben joins the committee from the office of the U.S. trade representative (USTR), where she served as deputy assistant USTR for monitoring and enforcement and as associate general counsel. She previously served as a trade fellow for the House of Representatives Committee on Ways and Means and has private sector experience. Alben is a graduate of Harvard University and Columbia Law School.
