AFSA announced on its website that Kevin Cullum, President of Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation (NMAC), will assume the role of Chair of the American Financial Services Association (AFSA) Board of Directors for the 2025–26 term.

According to AFSA, Cullum will take over from outgoing Chair Dan Walters during the association's Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. His selection is said to reflect his extensive tenure in auto finance and indicates AFSA’s trust in his capacity to help shape industry priorities amid ongoing regulatory developments and shifting market dynamics.

Cullum has led NMAC as President since August 2017, overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations, long-term strategy, and financial-services performance across the U.S. market. His responsibilities include credit, servicing, and dealer-network support functions, all crucial for sustaining Nissan’s broader retail-finance platform.

Before assuming leadership at NMAC, Cullum accumulated over three decades of automotive-finance experience. This includes sixteen years with Ford Motor Credit and advanced roles within Nissan’s finance units such as Extended Services, Remarketing, and Commercial Credit Services. He ultimately became President of Nissan Canada Financial Services—a career path illustrating his growing leadership reach and deep sector expertise.

The American Financial Services Association was established in 1916 and represents U.S. consumer credit providers. It advocates for borrower access, regulatory clarity, and responsible lending standards. AFSA supports its member companies through federal and state policy engagement, industry research, and professional development resources to help them navigate shifting regulatory requirements and changing market environments.
